I painted this very large mural over a week's time when I was pregnant with Liam.
It was a very interesting job. It was for a nursing home's new Alzheimer's Unit. They requested I paint OVER the doors—handles, windows, hinges and all! They said Alzheimer's patients tend to pace the halls and when they see a door they become agitated, as if seeing the door makes them think they should go through it. The thought was that if they didn't recognize that it was a door most of the time, they would be much less anxious during the day.
Here is the hallway door painted over with the Matterhorn.
And the exit door and window painted over (right).
This was a very surreal experience.
Lounge.
I loved doing this mural. Of course, now I wish I had shaded the trees differently. I love the path though.
I did several detailed Chalets. I wish the flash was not so terrible in these old pics.
I actually had a string of jobs for this nursing home company, going to various locations to paint over doors. I don't know why I can't find photos of those jobs.
